Summer Art Camp Director

Job Title: Summer Art Camp Director

Location: Cannon Beach, OR (Partially Remote)
Employment Type: Seasonal (March - August 2025)

Position Overview: The Summer Art Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the summer art camp program at Cannon Beach Arts Association. This includes event organization, staff management, student engagement, and ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for participants. The director will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to provide a rich and enriching experience for campers.

The week of camp will take place July 14 – 18th at the Cannon Beach Community Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily camp operations, including scheduling classes, activities, and events.

  • Recruit and supervise camp staff and volunteers.

  • Communicate effectively with art campers and their families, providing them with necessary information, updates, and support.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and camp policies, promoting a healthy and safe environment for all participants.

  • Monitor and evaluate the success of the camp program and adjust as needed to improve the experience for art campers.

  • Work within camp budgets for staffing and supplies, tracking requests, expenses and inventory.

  • Develop a post-camp director report.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in childhood education, or a related field, preferred.

  • Previous experience in camp leadership or educational program development is highly desirable.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and young adults in a creative and supportive manner.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering creativity in others.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp start).

Compensation:

            $18-20/hr. depending on qualifications and experience

Part-Time Gallery Assistant

Job Title: Part-Time Gallery Assistant

Location: Cannon Beach, OR

Organization: Cannon Beach Arts Association & Gallery

Position Overview:

The Cannon Beach Arts Association (CBAA) is seeking a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic part-time Gallery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, have customer service skills, and be able to support the daily operations of the gallery. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant arts community and support the promotion and presentation of local and regional artists. 

 Key Responsibilities:

•     Greet visitors to the gallery and provide excellent customer service, answering questions about the artwork, artists, and exhibitions.

•     Assist with the installation and deinstallation of artwork and Exhibitions as needed.

•     Manage daily opening and closing procedures, including securing the gallery and ensuring its cleanliness and order.

•     Process sales of artwork and gallery merchandise utilizing the Square system, including maintaining accurate records of transactions.

•     Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing our artist files. 

•     Assist in inventory management, ensuring artwork is accounted for and properly displayed.

 

Qualifications:

•     Strong interest in the arts and working in a creative environment.

•     Previous customer service or retail experience preferred, especially in an arts-related setting.

•     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•     Basic knowledge of art handling and gallery operations a plus.

•     Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•     Detail-oriented with organizational skills.

•     Comfortable with technology, including point-of-sale system.

•     Ability to lift and move artwork (up to 30 pounds) and assist with gallery installations.

 

Schedule:

•     Part-time (2-3 days per week), with flexible hours, including weekends and the occasional evening event. 

 

Compensation:

•     Hourly wage starting at $18 per hour.
