Mary Lyn Gough: I am an enthusiastic gardener and Mother Nature is full of amazing textures, colors, shapes and patterns. I have always been drawn especially to the complexities, beauty,
and specificity of flowers. No two are alike, even from the same variety. They are my subject and inspiration.
I aim to capture an immersive experience in each painting that envelops the viewer in my work, my vision of the blooms, the secrets they have to share. So real, they’re unreal, the work compels you to reach for a touch, or lean in for the scent of the bloom.
I work in watercolors to gain the transparency of oils and vibrancy of acrylics and the beguiling nature of water; an attempt to control the uncontrollable. The combination is a
viewing intimacy; my pieces are luscious, inviting and vibrant.

Jen Hoff - I grew up in various places around the world, exposed to cultures and ideas that made me realize that there is no “one right view” to anything. Probably because of my travels, I am drawn to people and find that they morph as you get more familiar with them, which truly fascinates and inspires me. The transition from first impression…to casual acquaintance…to the point that person is forever embedded in your heart is a wonderful journey. I’m always intrigued by the layers & perspectives you get to explore over time, and how what you see changes without you realizing it. With my art, I try to present that opportunity to the viewer/collector – my hope is that a piece will catch you eye, intrigue you with its details and back story, and simply become unforgettable. My work is both digital and mixed-media. With my original digital work, I sell limited editions. I often use my digital work as elements in my mixed media original pieces.

Scott C. Johnson - Although Scott C. Johnson’s landscape studies are rooted in plein air painting, early-on he began to add the little touches that rouse the imagination—the faint treetops that indicate a valley beyond the hill, or the tiny glint of water that tantalizes over a grassy dune. These hints at an unseen landscape beyond the one we see, were an introduction to his dream world.
Scott developed the soft washes of the Japanese tradition, as well as the refined linework of the Persian miniature. As he grew more confident with the brush, he also became more involved in meditational techniques, and the painting became more concerned with recording a process, a trance state, a finding of the happy accident, and less with a specific reality.
He is a developed sensual being, with an appreciation for music, dance and garden design. Scott’s love of nature, refreshed by frequent trips and hikes, is evident in his work, but its mood, often portrayed by impending weather, dominates the objects in the landscape. There are subtle references to change in the clouds and stronger references to death and loneliness in the leafless trees of his latest work, yet the mood is never hopeless, but lets us know that the next season, bringing the tiny leaves of Spring, is just beyond and approaching.

Michael Muldoon - Artist Michael Muldoon has a love for color. Whether its muted shadow hues, a vibrant sunrise or sunset, or a garden palette in full bloom, the artist attempts to capture that simple beauty and magical color with impressionist oils; ever learning with each new canvas. Every painting is a bold and new experience. Using both brush and palette knife extensively to convey the scene with aggressive strokes, yet relate the details with ample visual impression to “see” the impression of a landscape, field of poppies, beach scene, or maybe a plain doorway adorned with beautiful bougainvillea. You may not recognize the flowers, but you will love the color.

Greg Neitzel- Greg learned how to weave mats from repurposed commercial fishing line when he started commercial fishing aboard the FV BARRACUDA in the era of wooden boats and iron men. After crab season, Captain Al took some old crab line and wove what he called a “chafing mat”. The mat was tacked down on the wooden deck in a high traffic area to prevent wear and tear on the wooden deck. After a hard season the mat was discarded to be replaced. It was regarded as a wooden boar “accessory” and many fishermen who had pride in their craft learned how to weave them. Greg spent his career in the United States Marine Corps where he had Intensive Vietnamese Language Training. He holds his Bachelor of Arts from University of Oregon and his Master of Arts in Teaching from Willamette University. He has taught in several capacities including Japanese at Westview High School between 2006-2009. He currently spends his time creating in his Ilwaco studio and sharing his love of Karma mat making at Astoria Sunday markets where he believes using the fisherman’s rope in new creative ways brings good karmic energy to the local fishing industry he has spent so much of his life supporting.

Lisa Sofia Robinson - Lisa Sofia Robinson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her mother was a distant cousin of Maxfield Parrish and Lisa grew up with the smell of mineral spirits and oil paint. Lisa pursued a degree in education with a minor in music and art. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, Lisa specialized in photography and graphic design. After 20 years as a professional photographer, Lisa chose to change course and pursue a career with her other love, painting. She moved to the coast of Oregon and being so close to the water, her soul longed for something new. She worked exclusively with oil paint and figurative painting until a change in her health brought her to Open acrylic paint. She has been displaying and selling her current work throughout the country has been widely collected by a diverse group of patrons. Lisa explains her art as “a complex puzzle which I can't truly comprehend. I am realizing that I may never find the final answer, for it is in the searching, where I learn. The world around me uses continued movement, not stationary, never satisfied. It distracts me from delving into the depths of what I want, what I have to say; I have not the skill to express myself. Often, in the world's crowded streets, a desire to unbury my life, a fire for tracking my own heart, so wild so deep within me, wells to the surface. The goal of my art is not to make sense. My eyes move through the piece, never stagnant, always exploring. The movement, the flourish, the lines, the color and shapes which develop when completing the finished artwork, only come together when viewed as a whole.”
S
Janelle Schneider - I'm a Portland-based visual artist (and native Oregonian) with a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art. My paintings are figurative expressions in acrylic exploring the intersection of emotion, memory, and connection. It is through working with the paint, balancing color and light that I both explore and share the subtleties of relationship. I paint ordinary moments as a window for the viewer’s curiosity, imagination, and empathy to find connection.
Themes of connection, its counterpoint disconnection, and duality are usually present in my work. Image and the tactility of the paint and surface express my thoughts and feelings much more completely than my words can. My choice of color palettes and treatment of light express my feelings about the work as I paint, my interest is in the expression of emotion and relation of forms, either to each other, the relationship between subject and environment and the viewer with the work.
My work is held in private collections across the United States and abroad.
