Artist Programs And Support

Juried Shows – The Cannon Beach Gallery has a variety of juried shows each year. A call for work notice is sent out to a mailing list of artists via email. Any interested artist can be placed on the email list. Work must be recent (within 2 years) and be for sale. Juried group shows are open to all artists.

Featured Exhibits – Artists are invited to be featured at the Gallery for solo, group and themed exhibits. A committee oversees the selection of artists to be featured. Any interested artist(s) can submit a proposal to be featured. Artists may also make a proposal to be featured in the Gallery. A proposal should include digital images of artwork and a written description of what the artist is proposing to exhibit, along with any other materials that may help the Gallery Committee make selections. The Committee reviews artist’s packets as they are received throughout the year.

Retail Gallery – Artists are invited to submit work for our retail space. The Program Director oversees the selection of artists to be featured. Any interested artist(s) should bring in works to be displayed. Work must be labeled with the artist name, the title and medium of the work, and the price. All artists must live or work regularly within northwest Oregon or southwest Washington, or have a strong connection to Cannon Beach.

Artist Grant – The CBAA, in conjunction with the City of Cannon Beach, provides artist grants to local artists, musicians, performers, or writers. This grant is intended to provide funding for an artist(s) to pursue a project of significance. Please email or call us for inquiries about specifics of this program. Our most recent recipient is Glenna Gray 2024.

Internship Program – The CBAA Internship Program had its inaugural year at the gallery in 2013. A college student was given the opportunity to work in the gallery during the summer months. The program allowed the recipient to enrich their personal arts experience while gaining real world experience in a commercial arts environment. It has been shown that college graduates who participate in an internship program gain the kind of real life work experience that employers are looking for in their employees. The program was a success for all involved and the CBAA is committed to providing such an experience for future interns. Email or call us for inquiries about specifics of this program.

Scholarships – CBAA will award scholarships (amount will vary) to students planning to further his/her education in an arts-related field. Money can be used for educational expenses at any two or four year school in an arts-related area.

Additional Requirements: Please answer the following questions on a separate piece of paper. 1. What is your area of interest in the arts? How have you demonstrated this interest? 2.
