The Dreamscapes Exhibition invites you to explore a collection of imaginative realms, each uniquely crafted by talented artists. This exhibition showcases a diverse range of visual expressions that transport viewers to worlds of their own, blending reality with the surreal. From vibrant landscapes to abstract interpretations, each piece invites contemplation encouraging the viewer to reflect on their own dreams. Featuring Lloyd Lindley, David Cohen, Kate Saunders, Janet Maher, John Kirk, Gwen Kirk, Gregory Hergert, Patti Brendibach.
Lloyd Lindley: As a creative designer, painter, and photographer, Lloyd draws inspiration from the unique landscapes of Manzanita, Oregon. His keen observation of the world around him allows him to capture both the grandeur of nature and the subtleties of everyday life. Through his work, Lloyd expresses a deep appreciation for the natural environment, offering an introspective perspective on the people and places that inhabit these uncommon settings.
David Cohen: David’s work serves as an ode to the evolution of natural history art and the artists who transformed our perception of the world around us. For this collection, David focused on black and white, believing that this approach provided the clearest avenue to emphasize structure, light, and space. By eliminating color, he invited viewers to appreciate natural objects as pure forms and textures.
Kate Saunders: Kate Saunders specializes in kiln-formed glass and sculpture. In her work, she utilizes a distinctive process involving her own photographs. By employing a photoresist technique, she sandblasts the images onto the glass, subsequently rubbing enamels into the sandblasted areas to enhance the visual impact of the image.
Janet Maher: Janet Maher is a talented ceramist and sculptor who is based in the coastal town of Manzanita, Oregon.
John Kirk: John Kirk creates whimsical worlds through photography,“…Using a Canon 5D Mark II I’ve captured images of objects, textures, and solid colors. Each scene contains 25 - 30 of my images carefully chosen, layered, and blended to create mood and atmosphere. The finished image can take up to 3 weeks to complete, the resulting room surprises and pleases me so much that some days I just want move right in!”
Gwen Kirk: Gwen Kirk is a painter who captures unique scenes inspired by her life and imagination. Each artwork blends reality with fantasy, creating a story that connects with viewers.
Gregory Hergert: Currently, Gregory lives and works in the inner city of Portland, OR with his wife Robin and their cats. On most any given day, you will find him sitting in his art studio painting and drawing, where he finds inspiration in the day to day movements of the people and animals of the city that he sees below him as he looks out of his studio window and from the daily walks he takes throughout the city.
Patti Brendibach: Patti holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewelry Design from the University of Idaho, as well as an Art Teaching certification from Boise State University. She explores various mediums and has exhibited her work in juried exhibitions across Oregon and Idaho. Patti will showcase a collection of felted sculptures at our Dreamscapes exhibition.
