Make a 4″ tall basket from seagrass, iris, daylily, and cattail leaves. Learn basic twining and how to start and end a basket. We will also talk about collecting and preparing natural materials. The workshop will be tailored to your experience level; more advanced students will learn other types of weaves. You will walk away with your own beautiful container.
Students are encouraged to pack a lunch for this fun filled class.
Student notes: please bring an old dishtowel and special sea shells for decorating. All other materials will be provided for class use.

Donna Sakamoto Crispin, Fiber Artist
I have been weaving baskets and other fiber art for 31 years. I’ve also taken all kinds of workshops, from basketry and fiber arts to ceramics and jewelry. Through the years, I have combined those experiences with influences from Northwest and Japanese culture to create my own style. I enjoy teaching others, and raising awareness about crafts and their importance in our everyday lives.
