I paint because I have to…it’s right up there with food and water for me – a prayer, a meditation and always an adventure! Capturing moments in my life that touch me is a joy and I hope that reaches my viewers in a memorable way.”
Sharon’s fascination with the many moods, power, sounds and mystery of the sea is evident in her work. Several of her paintings inspired Author Sarel Venter to write stories about them and can be enjoyed on her website. Her deepest loves though are her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and people in general, and her desire to share their stories with oils on canvas is her goal.
In the past, paintings of her grandchildren were used in Portland Oregon Street of Dreams and West Linn Parade of Homes. “The Price of Freedom”, a tribute to her son’s military service, was published in the 2015 Art Edition of Rain.
This is her fourth year participating in Plein Air and More, Stormy Weather Art Festival and Spring Unveiling in Cannon Beach OR, and she has been featured in the local newspaper regarding these events. Her award-winning paintings are in collections throughout the United States, Switzerland and Italy.
