Internship

April 8, 2017

The Cannon Beach Arts Association is seeking a part-time marketing intern to implement multiple marketing projects between the months of October and March. There is a possibility of working remotely for but the successful candidate will work at least one day per week in our mid-town Cannon Beach Gallery. The position pays $12 per hour for 15 to 20 hours per week. The purpose of this internship is to provide work experience in social media and traditional marketing in the arts field. We will also provide training in grant writing and provide the opportunity to write at least one grant for a nonprofit. There is a possibility of extending the position with successful grant funding.

2018 Artist Grant

Contact the Program Director for more information at director at cannonbeacharts.org. Submit proposals for artist in residency by January 15, 2018. Award date is January 20, 2018. The Artist Grant Application for 2018 is now open. There are two grants being offered. The CBAA will award an artist living full time in Clatsop or Tillamook County a stipend to create art within the Gallery space. The artist will work at least once per week in a fine arts Galler ... more

2017 Scholarship

The Cannon Beach Arts Association is pleased to announce our 2017 scholarship opportunity. Our Seaside High School scholarship is open to students who have taken more than one art class at the high school level, have shown a strong interest in the arts, and submit a portfolio and statement of interest to the CBAA by May 31, either directly or through a school counselor. Award amounts vary annually based upon budget and number of applicants.

Artists may submit up to 3 works for consideration on Monday, February 19th, 2018, between 11 am and 4 pm. Jury selection will take place on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018. Artists may collect unselected work on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 between 11 am and 4 pm.

Please download the submission and consignment forms, as well as the terms and conditions below and include a completed slip with each work submitted. All work must also be clearly labeled on the piece.

This show is asking you to express your understanding of heritage through stories, real or imagined, your own or others. The work must be ready to show with all fixtures attached and clearly labeled with your name, title of the work, medium, and price.

Linda Gebhart

December 20, 2017

Linda, a former math teacher, retired to Cannon Beach in 2014 with a fervent desire to artistically represent the beauty she discovered during her world travels. She quickly discovered her biggest passion was in painting the seascapes and landscapes surrounding her on the coast. Linda is a member of Cannon Beach Art Association, Palette Puddlers paint group and Trail’s End Art Gallery in Gearhart. She is grateful for the many artists who continue to inspire her. Additionally, she volunteers at Cannon Beach Library, has been a board member of Trail’s End and is currently serving as board vice-president at Cannon Beach Arts Association.
