Juried Show Program 2015-16

One of the unique aspects of our programming at the Cannon Beach Gallery is the juried shows. CBAA is committed to delivering three juried shows each year, giving artists across the region the opportunity to submit work for consideration. Many artists use this opportunity to build resumes and connect with a public following. Each show has a different juror to ensure a variety of viewpoints and diversity in the resulting exhibition.

In addition a show is curated to further promoted a single or small group of artists selected from these juried shows, providing further support in developing careers.

This program has been made possible with funding from the City of Cannon Beach Tourism & Arts Fund.

The next juried show is “Memories & Mementos” our 30th annual miniatures show. The Juror is the gallery owner, Jeanine Grafton.  Submission day is Wednesday, 30th November 10am – 4pm. Each artist may submit up to four miniature artworks.

Submission forms will be available online shortly

2017 Exhibition Policy

Work must be no larger than 36′ wide, inclusive of framing, with a maximum weight of 40 lbs. It should be noted that the juried shows attract large submissions, which makes the competition for larger works greater. Work must NOT have been previously exhibited at Cannon Beach Gallery.
Paintings must be dry. Wall pieces must be ready to hang with wire securely attached to the back. Wall pieces without a suitable hanging device will not be accepted.

Paintings must be clearly labeled with artist’s name, medium, size and price. Labels are included on the submission form, but the artist may use their own labels, on condition it includes the required information.

Submitting Work

Artwork must be submitted in person at the Cannon Beach Gallery on designated drop-off day between 10am-4pm. If artists cannot hand deliver their own work during the specified time period, they may send someone in their stead. Late submissions will not be included in the exhibition. Call Cannon Beach Gallery at 503-436-0744 with questions or to make arrangements.

Please read the current terms and conditions and complete the submission form with your full contact details.

Artists should be prepared to pick up unselected works within two days following submission. Unselected large works should be collected the day following submission. The gallery does not have suitable storage for large works.

Retrieving Unsold Work

Unsold Artwork must be retrieved within 5 days following show end. If artists cannot personally retrieve their work during the specified time period, they may send someone in their stead. If the artist has not corresponded with the gallery to make alternative arrangements, and following a  30 days grace period, all unclaimed work becomes the property of CBAA and will be disposed of at the Gallery’s discretion.

Submitting artwork to the Cannon Beach Gallery will constitute an agreement on the part of the exhibitor to all conditions set forth here. No work that has been accepted for exhibition may be withdrawn before the closing date of the exhibition.
